Product Description

Trowel Glue T200 Wood Flooring Adhesive

Is a one component elastic adhesive crafted with silane-based resin, completely solvent-free, isocyanate-free, and amine-free. It presents as a consistent, spreadable adhesive specifically formulated for the optimal bonding of wood flooring in commercial and residential applications. The T200 adhesive is easy to apply, requiring just one trowel to deliver excellent coverage and up to 95% moisture blocking on concrete. It also offers up to STC 61 soundproofing, making it perfect for any project. This versatile adhesive can be used on both wood and cementitious subfloors and used on solid or engineered flooring. Please use the Forteko trowel #1 (3/16”x1/2”x1/4”) for
appropriate coverage.

Elastic Bonding

The adhesive’s elasticity ensures compensation for potential movements in glued parts, avoiding the typical brittleness associated with stiff adhesives.

Versatile Adhesion

Exhibits excellent adhesion to substrates, even those not perfectly seasoned, offering flexibility
 in application.

Ready for Use

Being a one-component product, it is ready for immediate use, eliminating the need for pre-mixing and streamlining the application process

Installation

To install using Forteko T200, pour the adhesive along the installation area and spread it evenly using a Forteko trowel #1 held at a 65° angle. Ensure the adhesive is applied smoothly, avoiding puddles or overlap. While the adhesive is still wet, place the flooring into position, checking regularly to confirm 100% coverage on the substrate. Do not exceed 30 minutes of open time at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Note that higher humidity will reduce open time, while lower humidity may extend it. If the adhesive develops a skin, remove it and reapply fresh adhesive before continuing. For installations without nail assist, it is recommended to apply weight on top of the flooring during drying to ensure proper contact and coverage. Insufficient adhesive coverage may result in reduced holding strength and compromised moisture mitigation.

All surfaces must comply with NWFA Guidelines, ensuring they are permanently dry, smooth, level, structurally sound, solid, well-fastened, clean, and free of dust, oil, grease, paint, wax, and old adhesives. Ensure the substrate is level to 3/16” over 10 feet. For radiant heat systems, the temperature must not exceed 95°F. The system must be operational before installation and must have completed at least one full heat cycle.

1. Check Moisture of Subfloor

Check Moisture of Subfloor: For concrete slabs, using standard application, conduct moisture testing per ASTM test methods F1869 Test for Measuring Moisture Vapor Emission Rate (MVER) of Concrete Subfloor Using Anhydrous Calcium Chloride, and/or F 2170 Test Method for Determining Relative Humidity in Concrete Floor Slabs Using In Situ Probes. Finally confirm the slab is cured (30-60 days) and over 3,500psi. Ensure slab is 75% rh.

2. Humidity Verification

Check that the humidity levels of the wood meet the regulatory requirements specified in the technical sheet of the parquet. Adhere strictly to these specifications for optimal results.

3. Surface Moisture Considerations

If the surface is not dry or exhibits higher moisture content than recommended, use an appropriate waterproof moisture barrier, such as Moisture Barrier P1000,
before application.

4. Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be clean, dry, smooth, and structurally sound with a slightly textured surface for optimal adhesion. Remove any residue, paint, or contaminants that may affect bonding. Fill surface irregularities with a Portland cement-based leveling compound and ensure the substrate is flat to 3/16” over 10 feet.

5. Temperature Control

Temperature Control: Avoid using Trowel Glue T200 at temperatures below +10 °C (50 °F) or exceeding +35 °C (95 °F). Maintain the recommended temperature range for optimal adhesive performance.

Following these professional recommendations, you ensure a successful installation of Trowel Glue T200, meeting industry standards (NWFA, ASTM, and/or RFCI Guidelines), and providing a reliable solution for various wood flooring applications. For up to 95% moisture blocking must use in conjunction with 2 coats P1000.

General Requirements

All surfaces must comply with NWFA Guidelines, ensuring they are permanently dry, smooth, level, structurally sound, solid, well-fastened, clean, and free of dust, oil, grease, paint, wax, and old adhesives. Ensure the substrate is level to 3/16”
 over 10 feet.

Concrete Moisture Protection

For moisture protection

  • Up to 10 lbs/1000 sq. ft. (80% RH):
    Use trowel #1
  • Up to 12 lbs/1000 sq. ft. (90% RH):
Use trowel #1 with *1 coat of P1000.
  • Up to 18 lbs/1000 sq. ft. (95% RH):
Use trowel #1 with **2 coats of P1000

New Concrete

New concrete must be constructed, finished, and cured for a minimum of 30-60 days per ACI 302 guidelines, with a compressive strength of at least 3,500 PSI. Before installation, conduct moisture tests to ensure emissions do not exceed:

  • 3 lbs/1000 sq. ft./24 hours (ASTM F 1869) or
  • 75% RH (ASTM F 2170)

Gypcrete Usage: For gypcrete P1000 primer can be applied, we suggest conducting a test to determine if a second coat is necessary for additional reinforcement. We recommend testing because gypcrete can be quite porous, which may require extra strengthening, and the installed psi could be lower than the specified value. We require 3 tests on gypcrete prior to using primer and glue on gypcrete.

Using Trowel Glue with Primer

If a primer is required (for glue assistance or RH levels above 80%), use P1000 Moisture Barrier exclusively.

  • Apply the adhesive within 24 hours of primer application.
  • If exceeded, lightly buff the surface before applying adhesive (this step is not covered under warranty).
  • If exceeded, lightly buff the surface before applying adhesive (this step is not covered under warranty).
  • Suitable for above-grade, on-grade, and below-grade installations.
  • Avoid use on subfloors with excessive moisture and hydrostatic pressure.

Wood Moisture Protection

Apply 1 coat of P1000 using Trowel #1 to ensure moisture mitigation for wood subfloors with up to 18% moisture content.

Adhesive Transfer

Ensure 90% adhesive transfer to wood or cork floor backing.

Recommended Trowels

  • Up to 10 lbs/1000 sq. ft. (80% RH):
    Trowel #1 with glue only
  • Up to 12 lbs/1000 sq. ft. (90% RH):
    Trowel #1 with *1 coat of P1000.
  • Up to 18 lbs/1000 sq. ft. (95% RH):
    Trowel #1 with *2 coats of P1000.
